About the Conference

The second student organised Egyptological conference in Copenhagen takes place on the 10-12th of May 2016 at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, since it was such a success last year.

The aim of this conference is to present and discuss recent developments and research in Egyptology concerning the subject of Death and Afterlife in Ancient Egypt.

We hereby invite and encourage everyone who are interested in ancient Egypt and current or former students of Egyptology and Egyptian Archaeology, to participate as guests in this conference, but students are particularly welcome and it has therefore been a priority to keep the price down. The deadline for registering as a guest is the 15th of April 2016

The programme will be available after the 20th of February 2016.

We have the pleasure of announcing that our international key note speaker is Professor Rosalie David (OBE, BA, PhD, FRSA) of Manchester University. Professor David is an expert in biomedical research in Egyptology.

We are unfortunately not funded this year, due to heavy savings, which results in a registration fee for everyone who wish to participate as a guest. The registration fee will cover the entrance to the conference, drinks and snacks at the reception and in breaks between presentations. There will also be held a conference dinner (not included in the registration fee) the 12th of May at 08PM. Everyone who wish to attend the conference are also more than welcome to attend the dinner, which will be a 3 course menu with wine and non-alcoholic drinks (The specific menu will be presented in April).

Please, do not hesitate to contact us, if you have any special dietary requirements.
